None of us wants to live in a house of horrors, but the ingredients that go into everyday household products, like the paint on your walls and the grout on your tiles, could have been tested on defenceless animals.
It’s nearly ten years since the UK ‘banned’ testing household products on animals. But the ban is full of loopholes.
The UK Government has promised to make progress towards phasing out animal testing. Ask them to start by giving the household product testing ‘ban’ a makeover and finally ending animal testing for everyday products.

Petition text:
We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to makeover the 2015 household product testing ban by:
- Immediately removing loopholes that permit the testing of household ingredients on animals where there is no regulatory requirement.
- Banning the sale of finished household products tested on animals elsewhere in the world within the UK.
- Adding other products commonly used in the home and garden to the ban, including disinfectants and weed killers.
- Setting an ambitious deadline for ending all chemical ingredient testing on animals.
