The UK Government will be deciding soon if 'Life Sciences' infrastructure - which simply put involves animal testing facilities - should be added to the Public Order Act 2023.
This means protesting or even intending to protest against animal testing facilities could be considered 'interfering with the use or operation of', and you could be arrested and sentenced to up to 12 months in prison.
Why is this a problem? Because we stand up for animals that have no voice and are being used as scientific experiments.
Infrastructure includes roads, rail, gas, electricity, etc. - NOT animals that are tested on in the name of questionable science. The UK Government recently launched its strategy to phase out animal testing. Which one is it, a 'key national infrastructure', or no longer necessary and will be phased out?
We have a right to protest in the UK. It is our right to be the voices for those who need us. Do not let your voice be silenced, too!
Your local MP can stop this law change. Ask them to attend the chamber to VOTE NO, when the date is released.
